Bought this book a long time ago used it extensively when I was taking courses in Church history Have not read every page but it is worn from the number of times I used it to check something Needed to check and verify a few things about Augustine of Hippo and the so called Just War theory today and bingo it had precisely what I needed Great reference book whether you are an amateur or working historian.

Pretty good These Cambridge Histories are very helpful as references, and do give high level overviews of themes and periods But reading it cover to cover is not especially thrilling.
