I ve got a bunch of non fiction books by this author, and wanted to gauge his accuracy by starting on a topic that I do know rather well Given that this book is as short as it is, it does give a rather good overview of the basics of Greek mythology In places, the chapters could be arranged differently, and there were a few weird at least to me jumps in content like in Chapter 1 What is a Myth , where the author starts out listing the different interpretations of myth , then suddenly goes on abou [...]

Greek Mythology was my minor in college but that was over 16 years ago so it was nice to finally read a book to refresh my memory I like how this book starts out with the history and moves onto how myths came about and then of course goes into a lot detail about the Titans and how they ruled I had forgotten some of the stories but the Titans and their main children have never left me Of course Apollo and Artemis are my absolute favorites because Artemis was the virgin goddess and although a hun [...]

Needs an editorThe book had some interesting information, but it seemed rather sketchy on details It read like a high school term paper, right down to the typos and poor grammatical choices I would have enjoyed it if those errors hadn t pulled me out of the moment.

Very little actual content The book goes through a lot topics, but never makes any of them clear I understand this is an hourly history book and there is a lot of subject to cover, but you can get from Topics might jump from one parragraph to another, leaving you hanging as the previous topic might not had been fully explained

Short and Well WrittenI thoroughly enjoyed this book even though I know the myths by heart It is always a pleasure to recall the stories about the Gods of Ancient Greece and their Heroes The author very tastefully mentions facts about philosophers along with poets and famous writers of dramatic plays Read this book if you get a chance

I believe this is the 4th book in the concise series I have read Highly informative and mostly a refresher for those of us who have read detailed accounts of Greek myth The author takes much of the information from Hesiod and Homer which keeps the tale true to its roots The series is worth the read especially considering they are short.
