I only read The End issue which I found interesting it s a very human story about an older Tony Stark passing on his mantle It s fairly well written and illustrated but for what should be an emotive story lacks any emotional swing.

Iron Man The End is a pretty average story about middle aged Tony Stark hitting a wall with his health, picking a successor, and then retiring to his space station with his age appropriate love interest, who is apparently named Lisa Whatever.Iron Man Requiem is a cracktastically awesome re presentation of the original comic that introduced Iron Man in all its hilarible glory In the modern framing pages, Tony, who is apparently erasing his memories because that is totally a thing that one does, k [...]

This comic has it s high points and it s low points The low points at the The End comic It was an interesting idea that felt rushed and not well thought out Most of the other comics in the series aren t afraid to end a hero if it fits, but here the writer seems unsure of his own plot and holds off at the last second Iron Man Requiem had a fantastic framing that connected back to the World s Most Wanted story line But it felt rushed and didn t really end in a way I was happy with It also didn t i [...]

Interesting concept weaving a story around several reprints by having the current story use them as flashbacks Iron Man s popularity is somewhat higher now due to the films but it always bothered me how they tend to start with a rather conservative character and make him a rather liberal character by and by and they think it is progress Generally speaking a businessman like Stark or a man from the greatest generation like Captain America would not do that Okay I will get off my soapbox for now

This is actually the one shot of Iron Man The End plus a bunch of reprints to drive up the price The End is a decent series It take place 50 years in the future Tony is in the twilight of his career as Iron Man and working on his last gift to mankind Not much happens in this book A couple of throw away fights with Crimson Dynamo but mainly it s Tony facing the fact that he s old and his health is declining.
