Good premise, a definite page turner, up until about the halfway mark Started floundering at the pervy house party Stanly Stanton come off as an uptight, nitpicking Nancy pants rather than the tortured soul he was aiming to be Garrett, the flamboyant ladies maid, was made of sterner stuff The witty repartee between h H I enjoyed so much in the beginning disappeared It turned into angsty bologna Please love me No, I m emotionally constipated due to childhood issues And this one girl was mean to m [...]

Who is Celeste Bradley and why haven t I heard of her And why isn t everybody reading by her She is wicked funny and writes a steamy, angsty romance Or rather, I now know that she wrote one steamy, angsty, funny romance and although I accidentally read the last in the series first, I m anticipating a full on, Celeste Bradley spy novel binge in my near future Him He s the dark and broody archetype who possesses a mysterious ability to sense when someone is lying He s serious and reserved and has [...]

Sheesh Is this the worst or best 2 out of 4 Books 1 and 3 of the Royal Four series were wonderful, books 2 and4 this one were AWFUL and for the same reason Each of these two stories deals with men who treat their women abominably throughout the entire book while the women do all in their power to please the man In Seducing the Spy , Alicia has been framed, judged, ostracized, abandoned by her family and is barely surviving day to day when Stanton Lord Wyndham enlists her aid in hunting down a sp [...]

I really enjoyed this book It reminds me why I love this author I believe she is criminally underrated among the historical romance authors She writes very sexy historical romance that also has substance and wit Her characters are appealingly quirky and flawed This book is so in that vein.Lady Alicia is Ruined, with a capable R It wasn t her fault, but that doesn t make it right My heart hurt for Alicia I tend to like my heroines virginal, but I also like a heroine who has had a bit of life expe [...]

Meh it started off interestingly enough, but it all kinda went downhill from there I was really excited to get a better look at Stanton the Falcon , as he s been a pretty mysterious outlying character in the last 3 books And it LOOKED like it was going to be good at the beginning But then he just started acting like a jerk, and she was WAAAY too forgivingIt was really just another case of the girl falling head over heels for a guy for no reason other than he turns her on Well whoop di doo Great [...]

I liked this one The heroine is totally incorrigible vengeful, intelligent, sour, vivacious, unstoppable and witty She has absolutely no respect for the society that spurned her scornfully and succeeds in driving the hero bonkers He is morose, dark, tortured, verging on dour and has no idea how to get a handle on a woman who has no time for society s conventions Some parts of the plot were downright silly, and the four heroes appear scarily incompetent as a collective, but it s a fun story anywa [...]

I m not sure why I put off picking this one up, but this apparent conclusion to the series was very good indeed In fact I almost completely missed a meeting when I picked up the book during a ten minute break and looked up twenty minutes later It was during the rather action packed ending, so I suppose there were mitigating circumstances On the whole though, I quite liked the notorious Alicia pitting herself against the overly staid and formal Stanton, and the adventure was suitably adventurous. Started off on a promising note A strong heroine, almost as good as Willa Hero s talent reminded me of WHITE LIES by Jayne Anne Krentz Didn t appreciate how the hero morphed into a suspicious, arrogant, and unbearably cruel guy towards the end shades from WHITNEY, MY LOVE

When Stanton Horne, Lord Wyndham, the member of the elite Royal Four as the Falcon, receives the visit of Lady Alicia Lawrence, the disowned daughter of the Earl of Sutherland, he s extremely weary of her story about a conspiracy against the Crown Not because she s a woman, but because she s a notorious woman five years ago she was shunned by Society and labeled a notorious liar.Stanton s ability to spot lies and liars, so convenient in his work as the Falcon, fails him, when it comes to Alicia [...]

This is the dammit last of the Royal Four series, culminating with the Falcon s story If Celeste Bradley has to write Regencies, I wish she d stick with the spy story theme Stanton Wyndham has a unique gift he can tell with uncanny accuracy whether someone is lying Lady Alicia Lawrence is a proven liar, slut, and general reprobate So when she sends Wyndham a note warning of a plot to kidnap Prinny, Wyndham is naturally skeptical When she follows up in person but refuses to remove the heavy veils [...]

Re Read June 2010 After a lot of hit or miss books lately, I decided to do a bit of re reading, and this happened to be the first one I landed on.I d forgotten how much I enjoyed this story Stanton s talent for spotting liars almost borders on a paranormal aspect, though there s no hint in the book that this is the case I can easily sympathize though with how horrible it must ve been to grow up knowing everyone was lying. His hesitancy to enter into a relationship with a woman he s been celibate [...]

The synopsis was very interesting as well as the beginning of the story with the oatmeal I was interested in the quiet and almost mysterious Wyndham The heroine is again, a strong, sweet character Her only flaw is falling for a moron twice.Sadly, just like the other 3 of the series, this is also a light, fanciful book with too much going on and characters not taken seriously My BIGGEST issue with the book is how the author, despite the claims that these 4 leaders of England, the ones honored wit [...]

The perfect ending to a great double series Whether you ve read both the Liar s and the Royal Four, or just the Royal Four this is a great finale It is scary reading a long series, because you are always concerned about cookie cutter scenarios Well Bradley kept the story fresh You go Girl How can you complain about intertwining characters and story lines that stay fresh and new A central bad guy throughout the whole series, with twists and turns that keep you guessing until the end By the time y [...]

I find it very hard to believe that the heroine s behavior would ever be countenanced and bring her back into the fold of polite society some of her actions would not even be acceptable today i also had a lot of problems with the tired old premise of the entire British aristocracy, or at least those young men of marriageable age, being covert spies The climactic scene also was extremely hackneyed, in my opinion I wish authors would think of something else rather than a bunch of dastardly villain [...]

The writing in this book was superb as always is the case with miss Bradley. My main issue was I could not connect with the two characters.Wyndham was too conservative and judgemental. He was also self loathing that It just spoiled the overall enjoyment of the book.I was also unsatisfied at the end because he was forgiven too easily.Alicia looked like a strong heroine but she didn t quite make it.I totally understood her suffering but, throughout the book I kept thinking If she had resorted to bein [...]

I m not sure what happened with this series I m not a huge regency era romance fan but I just loved the Liar s Club books and was very excited to read the Royal Four My Uber Spies But there is nothing uber about these books and this one was one of the worst of the four I hated the heroine, she was unlikable and I was totally unimpressed with the Falcon for someone smart enough to be a member of the Royal Four, he certainly acted the fool. All in all, I almost wish I had stopped at Lord Reardon s [...]

I enjoyed most of it better than a 3 star rating but from about toward the end of the book the hero suffered from a case of extreme jerkitis He didn t recover nearly in time for me to feel like he made up for his behavior by the end I thought The Liar s Club was a great, fun series but the Royal Four were mostly disappointing.
